The original standard was set in place in 1997 by the Founders of the Breed and creators of the name Aussie Bulldog (Noel & Tina Green) . The breed first went public as the Aussie Bulldog in May 97 in the QLD courier mail in Brisbane with the first litter bred in Australia by Jag Aussie Bulldogs , out of  Jag Dishlex and sired by Boris. They were advertised  again in newspapers on a number of occasions during the next 12 mths , and then later in 1998 the breed went to air with Don Burke featuring Pip Nobes shortly followed by the Burkes back yard magazine with a brief introduction and background on both  "Greens" and  "Nobes " lines of dogs.
The Aussie bulldog in 1999 also became known as the Australian bulldog .
There are two breed registry's in Australia for the Aussie /Australian bulldog.
The first breed association was formed in 2003
"The United Aussie Bulldog Association "
Followed by the Australian Bulldog Society foundered in 2005 by P. Nobes .
The name Aussie Bulldog was created from place of origin "Australia"
The Aussie Bulldog was made functional , durable , dependable and impressive looking, to satisfy the overwhelming interest in a bulldog of this description .Noel & Tina Greens  impression of an Aussie Bulldog is one that has all the quality traits of the best Bullmastiffs but only up to 60 % the size , also adding  to the equation the impressive build & unique colours of the best British Bulldogs , always sticking with unbeatable personalities . Both original parent breeds are great pedigreed breeds , and  the Aussie Bulldog has followed the same path but are registered by independent bodies and are not registered with the ANKC.
The UABA would like to see Aussie Bulldogs being bred as close to possible to the standard and only from sound healthy breeding stock .
